Albatross Tours have just released their 2014 ANZAC Tours brochure featuring 3 new commemorative tours to Gallipoli and the Western Front.
In addition to their highly successful ANZAC Day tours, these new programmes are specifically designed to achieve the same in-depth, rewarding commemorative experience but during those other European Summer months between May and September.
Their very popular 8 day ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’ tour will now have an expanded programme of 6 departures and there will be 6 additional departures of the new 7 day ‘The Spirit of Gallipoli’ tour, which focuses on Istanbul and the entire Gallipoli story.
“We took a serious look at what is on offer outside of the busy and highly publicized ANZAC Day periods and it was quite clear there was a complete lack of product suited for the Australian and New Zealand markets thought the usual European Summer months,” commented Albatross Tours Managing Director, Euan Landsborough.
“Of course there are a number of shorter FIT programmes already available but none that deliver the deep, fulfilling and rewarding experience that we provide. We have no doubt the publicity and hype over the next few years surrounding the upcoming 100th year anniversaries of the First World War will generate a new breed of traveller wanting more time to visit the memorable sites and moving locations at Gallipoli and the Western Front. Our decades of commemorative touring experience, smaller and more personal group sizes, longer 3 and often 4 night stays in centrally located hotels and specialist guides and tour managers will provide precisely that”.
Albatross also predict a noticeable number of travellers will start to strongly consider spending a week, or two, following the footsteps of the legendary ANZACs as an essential part of their longer European visit. By providing regular departures across the European Summer, the new Albatross programmes have been be tailored to fit that demand, with tours designed to be either ‘bolted on’ before or after other touring elements or to be ‘stand alone’ touring experiences.
“We also see a demand to combine both our Gallipoli and Western Front tours into one longer ‘ANZAC pilgrimage’. To that end both sets of programme departures have been timed so that they can easily be merged into one longer 14 day tour ’The Complete ANZAC Experience’. Think about it, one incredibly stimulating tour that takes travellers from the water’s edge at ANZAC Cove, up the barren Gallipoli escarpments to the Nek and Lone Pine, and then across the haunting landscape and emotive sites of Flanders and the ‘bloody Somme’”.
Another specially designed programme is their new 15 day ‘Turkey, Gallipoli & the Ottomans’ tour. This unique tour not only includes 3 fascinating nights in the Gallipoli region exploring the dramatic battlefields but also takes travellers to stay 2 and 3 nights in each of the ‘must see’ sights of Turkey including Istanbul’s Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace, the troglodyte dwellings in Cappadocia, Pamukkale, Pergamum and ancient Ephesus.
“Travel agents also have a lot to gain from selling these tours with the opportunity to earn more commission due to the inclusiveness of these tours, plus they can book these tours with confidence with our guaranteed group departures”.
