Agents encouraged to get their clients voting.
AFTA has just confirmed that voting is now open for consumers to nominate their favourite travel agent, as part of the new People’s Choice: Retail Travel Agency of the Year category in the 2016 National Travel Industry Awards.
The initiative, announced last month, will see AFTA collaborate with consumer publisher Australian Traveller Media with the aim of “elevating bricks and mortar suburban ATAS travel agencies in the hearts and minds of consumers,” according to AFTA ceo Jayson Westbury.
The category will be determined by consumer voting through the existing People’s Choice Awards program run by the publisher, with the public able to submit votes via a hardcopy form in the January edition of International Traveller magazine, or via an online survey which can be accessed by CLICKING HERE.
Cosnumers who participate will go into a draw to win an APT Mekong River cruise worth almost $16,000, with voting remaining open until Wednesday 23 March 2016.
State finalists will be announced in April, while the overall winner will be announced at the NTIA Gala Dinner on Saturday 16th July.
