Industry excellence to be celebrated across 44 categories in 2019 NTIAs.
The first stage of Australia’s National Travel Industry Awards for 2019 has kicked off this morning, with the opening of nominations for both the supplier and travel agent categories in the awards.
A new process implemented for 2019 includes updated procedures for some categories, including a “two-step submission” system and finalist presentations for judged categories.
For the first time this year the NTIAs will include the new CATO Awards, honouring top travel consultants across Adventure Travel, Group Touring, Ski and FIT categories.
There are four forms available for nominations this year: one for travel agents to nominate suppliers; one for suppliers to nominate travel agents and travel agencies in both the AFTA NTIA and CATO Awards; the Emirates Travel Consultant Scholarship for self-nominations; and the Travel Writer nomination form.
Nominations will only be accepted via the online forms, and each nomination will be “rigorously verified to ensure both its eligibility and validity,” AFTA said.
AFTA has noted that participation in the AFTA Travel Accreditation Scheme (ATAS) is required for nominees in the Travel Agency categories (1-17 and 41-44) as well as the Best Tour Operator (Domestic and International) and Best Wholesaler (Specialty, Domestic and International) categories.
The nomination forms are now live at www.afta.com.au/events/ntia/nominations-and-voting.
