Luxon to step down on 25 September 2019.
Air New Zealand has just announced the resignation of its CEO, Christopher Luxon.
The news comes seven years to the day since his appointment was unveiled, with NZ Chairman, Tony Carter saying Luxon had made “an outstanding contribution to the airline, which has experienced a period of enhanced profitability, strong dividends to shareholders, record customer satisfaction scores, outstanding brand health and the best corporate reputation in New Zealand and Australia” during his tenure.
Carter said the carrier’s Board had commenced an international search, and expected to be in a position to announce the appointment of a new CEO in the near future.
Luxon will remain in the role until 25 September, after which he will move to advising and supporting the incoming Chairman and new CEO, Carter said.
