Rupert Hogg steps down “to take responsibility as a leader in view of recent events”.
There is a changing of the guard at Hong Kong based Cathay Pacific Airways, with the company’s CEO Rupert Hogg and Chief Commercial Officer Paul Loo both set to depart.
The company said Augustus Tang would take over as CEO effective immediately, while the Chief Commercial Officer role will be filled by Ronald Lam.
“Cathay Pacific is fully committed to Hong Kong under the principle of ‘one country, two systems’ as enshrined in the Basic Law,” a formal statement to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange noted, adding: “the Company is confident that Hong Kong will have a great future”.
