Adventure Tours Australia becomes part of Imperium.
Imperium Capital Group has this morning announced the acquisition of Adventure Tours Australia from Intrepid Group.
Adventure Tours Australia (ATA) will become part of Imperium’s Discovery Adventure Group, which operates a range of tours and experiences on Fraser Island and in the Byron Bay area. The agreement with Intrepid Group includes shares in Outback Tour Services (OTS) as well as “selected assets” from Kimberley Wild Expeditions to run West Coast and Kimberley trips.
As part of the deal, Intrepid has taken a stake in Discovery Adventure Group, with Intrepid co-founder Darrell Wade to also join the company’s board.
Discovery Adventure Group MD, Andrew Cox, said the acquisition was part of a strategy to expand he company’s adventure tour operations across Australia.
“The strength of the ATA and OTS brands and businesses in Central and Western Australia made it an attractive proposition…this deal expands our adventure tour operations across Australia, ensuring our guests receive the same fantastic experience wherever in the country they are,” Cox said.
Intrepid CEO, James Thornton, said the move would help the business focus on its core brands, particularly Intrepid Travel.
“We believe that Discovery Adventure Group is the perfect home for the Adventure Tours Australia brand, as it more closely aligns with the focus of their business,” Thornton said.
