First new in-person event for AFTA to debut in mid-March.
The Australian Federation of Travel Agents has just announced a one-day Women in Travel Summit, to take place at the Swissotel Sydney on Monday 13 March this year.
AFTA CEO Dean Long said the new event was timed to allow participants to maximise their travel budgets, with the date following the CLIA Awards which are also taking place in Sydney on Saturday 11 March.
“We want to celebrate the fact that 72% of front-line employees are women and importantly 74% of our middle management positions are also held by women,” he said, with the Summit to feature a series of keynote speakers, panel sessions, breakout rooms and networking opportunities.
Long said the full-day event would allow the Federation to recognise the “tremendous expertise and extensive experience across Australia’s travel sector…we are constantly being asked by Government and other sectors what it is that travel does differently, and this summit will allow the industry to continue to evaluate what we do and plan for the future”.
Tickets are priced at $199 including GST for ATAS Accredited Businesses and AFTA Corporate partners, while non-members and industry stakeholders will pay $299 per ticket.
