ETG Aeronology technology deal covers ticketing, robotics, wholesale booking and payment services.
Express Travel Group (ETG) has confirmed a new agreement with Aeronology, the new technology venture launched earlier this month by former Helloworld Travel senior executive Russell Carstensen.
The pact covers all applications created by Aeronology, which will be available to all ETG members across Australia as well as exclusively for First Travel Group (FTG) members in New Zealand.
“Knowing the technology that Russell created in his time with Air Tickets and QBT/APX Corporate in Australia and New Zealand, I feel very confident that with the new Aeronology IP we can leapfrog our competitors and provide the best in market travel services,” said Express Travel Group CEO, Tom Manwaring.
“Aeronology has created outstanding transactional services…and some unique shopping features never seen in the local or global market. We are extremely excited to be the first company in Australia and New Zealand to have access to this application suite, and using the latest innovations, algorithms and AI created by Aeronology’s international development team”.
Carstensen said Aeronology was developing connections via NDC as well as directly connecting with low-cost carriers. “Our R&D team are studying the new distribution services such as One Order and One ID, and are working closely with IATA to be one of the first to use this new tech,” he said.
“The key for our long-term relationship is to ensure we don’t compete with our customers, but to support and help each business grow. The days when agency groups actually compete with their members via corporate or wholesale services is obsolete and is in fact obscene,” Carstensen added.
He said Aeronology’s newly developed technology was “globally ready…using APIs, web services, cloud computing, industry focused algorithms and AI will ensure we aren’t always playing catch-up”.
