Tourism Australia MD steps down to take up role as CEO of Experience Co.
John O’Sullivan, Tourism Australia Managing Director since Mar 2014, has announced his resignation.
O’Sullivan will leave the organisation in June, handing over to Tourism Australia Regional General Manager International Phillipa Harrison, who will act as Interim Managing Director until a permanent replacement is found.
He will take up a new role as CEO of ASX-listed tourism activities specialist, Experience Co. Tourism Australia Chairman, Bob East, said O’Sullivan was leaving TA with clear strategic direction, forward momentum and strong industry backing.
“Tourism Australia and the Australian tourism industry have gone from strength to strength under John’s stewardship,” said East, who is also currently Executive Chairman of Experience Co. East will resume his role as Non-Executive Chairman of Experience Co when O’Sullivan takes up his new position.
Tourism Australia also confirmed the promotion of Susan Coghill to the role of Chief Marketing Officer, replacing Lisa Ronson who left the organisation in March to take up a role with supermarket giant Coles.
