Dreamliner to take over SYD-SFO effective 04 December 2019.
Qantas has just announced that Sydney-San Francisco will be the next route for its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, with the new aircraft to replace the current 747 operation from 04 December.
The expansion of the QF 787-9 network is due to the phased delivery of the airline’s new Dreamliner aircraft, which will see its ageing international jumbo jet fleet phased out by the end of 2020.
Qantas International Acting CEO, Narendra Kumar, said the carrier currently had eight 787-9s, with a further six arriving from October this year.
The 236-passenger aircraft features economy, premium economy and business class cabins including the latest version of the Qantas Business Suite. Kumar confirmed that Qantas would also shortly begin upgrading the cabins on its A380 aircraft “which means the inflight experience for our customers travelling to the United States will have never been better”.
