IATA to refund 21.88% of Air Australia tickets.
IATA has today advised Australian travel agents of the final refunds for Air Australia tickets, after evaluation of outstanding claims by the collapsed airline’s receivers.
The funds withheld by IATA are unfortunately not sufficient to cover the approved refunds, and “therefore IATA will have to prorate the total refunds against the total amount withheld”.
This means agents will receive 21.88% of the total refund approved by the airline, with these funds to be automatically included in the current billing cycle 30 Jul-05 Aug.
IATA said that refunds that have been rejected by Air Australia will not be processed, and referred inquiries to the administrator, KordaMentha.
