East and West modules combined for Australian Tourism Exchange.
Tourism Australia and Destination NSW have just announced changes to the format of next year’s Australian Tourism Exchange, which will take place in Sydney in April 2013.
The existing format, involving separate ‘East’ and ‘West’ modules will be combined into a single “shorter and sharper” global event.
ATE2013 will take place over five days (rather than seven): four days of appointments following a first day dedicated to delegate registration, market briefings and media activities.
The event will now take place Fri 26 Apr-Tue 30 Apr 2013, with TA ceo Andrew McEvoy and Destination NSW ceo Sandra Chipchase saying the key driver of the format change was to make the event more efficient and effective.
The changes only apply to next year’s ATE event in Sydney, with the format of future ATEs to be reviewed in line with industry feedback and input from hosting state tourism bodies.
