AIR Pacific has signed a US$210m
list price engine and support service deal with Rolls-Royce to power its fleet of three brand new Airbus A330-200 aircraft, to be introduced from mid-next year.
The Fiji-based carrier has selected Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines, “the only engine specifically designed for the A330,” MD & ceo David Pflieger said.
The RR deal was announced at the Singapore Airshow yesterday, with Pflieger saying Rolls-Royce was the “right partner for us as we prepare to welcome our new state-of-the-art Airbus A330s.
“We are making great progress with the renewal & revitalisation of Fiji’s national airline, and while we are now in our 24 month ‘pardon our dust’ period of changes and transition, there will be a lot to cheer about when we are done,” he added.
