SOFITEL MELBOURNE ON COLLINS TO CELEBRATE BASTILLE DAY
In keeping with its French origins, Sofitel Melbourne On Collins has planned a number of events to celebrate Bastille Day, the French national holiday commemorating the storming of the Bastille on 14th July, 1789.
On Thu 14th July hotel guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a range of French-inspired food and beverage offerings to get them into the spirit of this most important day on the French calendar.
On level 1, there’ll be live cooking stations offering crepes to all guests checking in and out, a complimentary selection of viennoiserie will be offered to guests with their teas and coffees in Sofi’s Lounge and, later in the day, guests checking in will be offered a tasting of French sparkling wine.
Up on level 35 guests can indulge in a tasting of ‘Lady Antoinette’ wines from Burgundy and the Côtes du Rhône matched with French inspired canapés as well as our ‘Sweet Dreams’ offerings of macaroons and financiers in the Atrium bar.
The hotel’s award winning No35 restaurant has designed a French inspired 5-course degustation menu for $105pp and, as a nightcap, all guests on their way down from level 35 will receive a Chambord hot chocolate night cap. Throughout the evening, an accordionist will be serenading guests with familiar and much loved French tunes.
“We want our guests to experience the ‘French Spirit’ of the hotel, and we couldn’t think of a better way of doing this than by providing these very traditional food and beverage offerings, which is at the very core of everything that is truly French.” said Sofitel’s Director of Food and Beverage, Craig Levy.
