Heron Island was the host of a team of senior Tourism Queensland executives last week.
The group enjoyed a helicopter ride over the Great Barrier Reef durin g an educational tourism visit to the Gladstone region.
Anthony Hayes, ceo headed up the group along side Maxine Brushe, Councillor Gladstone Regional Council, Peter Corones, Chairmand of Gladstone Area Promotion and Development (GAPDL), Trevor Cox, Regional Director, TW and Glenn Churchill, ceo GAPDL.
Other highlights included a semi-submersible tour to view the reef and marine life, a preview of the newly refurbished rooms and a briefing on the new initiatives being planned on Heron Island in order to bring the tourists back.
