Three newly introduced river ships to its fleet, two new land journeys and a new itinerary, along with exclusive new sightseeing tours and the introduction of more inclusions are just a few of the glittering highlights of Travelmarvel’s latest Europe River Cruising brochure for 2014.
Three world-class ships
With the introduction of the Travelmarvel Jewel, Travelmarvel Diamond and MS Excellence Rhône, 2014 is set to be an exciting year for the leading premium value cruise and tour operator. Each of the vessels feature spacious boutique-style staterooms and suites with all weather private French balconies available on more than 80 percent. Complimentary WiFi and internet stations and bicycles for independent exploration by land are available for all guests.
New cruise itinerary
With the introduction of the MS Excellence Rhône comes a new itinerary, the Jewels of the Rhone from Paris to Nice. The 16 day itinerary is $6,995 per person twin share and comprises three nights in Paris, followed by a 10 night river cruise from Chalon-Sur-Saone to Arles, ending with two nights in Nice. Highlights include lunch on the first viewing level of the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris; an insight into the history and manufacturing methods of mustard making with a visit to a local mustard factory in the Burgundy region; a visit and wine tasting at a family-owned winery in the Beaujolais region; a full day exploring in World Heritage-listed Lyon; and a trip to an Olive Mill in Saint-Remy de Provence for a tour & tasting.
Lead in tour is the ever-popular 15 day European Gems River Cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest, which for 2014 features new Insider Experiences. These include a private medieval reception at Marksburg Castle on the Rhine River; a visit to Hanau, birthplace of the Brother’s Grimm, and a tour of the enchanting Mespelbrunn Castle; and the chance to sample traditional German sausages at the world’s oldest sausage kitchen in Regensburg. Prices start from $5,795 based on twin share.
New land itineraries
Also new for 2014 are two new land itineraries. The 33-day Ultimate Britain, Ireland & European Gems River Cruise, priced from $12,640 per person twin share, takes in 38 towns, villages and cities across ten countries. Highlights include two enchanting nights at Tulloch Castle in the Scottish Highlands; a visit to the old Bushmills whisky distillery; Afternoon tea in Windsor; visit to the Giant’s Causeway; and a 14 night Amsterdam to Budapest river cruise on the Travelmarvel Diamond or Jewel.
The new 26-day Delights of Turkey & European Gems, from $9,390 per person twin share, takes in 23 towns, villages and cities across six countries, starting with two nights in Istanbul visiting historical sites, museums and mosques as well as tasting traditional Turkish Delight in a Spice Bazaar. It also includes a visit to the ancient Pergamon and Ephesus; a visit to the thermal springs at Hierapolis; and a night in a traditional Anatolian cave hotel in Cappadocia before embarking on a 14 night cruise on the Travelmarvel Jewel from Budapest to Amsterdam.
New inclusions
Travelmarvel’s all-inclusive pricing includes all sightseeing, meals, excursions and entertainment, bottled water, tea and coffee all day, all gratuities, transfers and port charges, and the services of a Travelmarvel Cruise Director during the river cruise. New for 2014 is the addition of complimentary Champagne breakfasts and wine, beer and soft drinks with both lunch and dinner.
