31 July, Sydney – The Sultanate of Oman Tourism invited select PCO’s, travel agent and media partners for a feast to be remembered: 8-course degustation, featuring the unique flavours of Oman at Embers Mezze Bar in Darlinghurst.
The event, co-sponsored by Etihad Airways, which now have even better connections between Abu Dhabi and the Oman’s capital – Muscat, tantalised the tastebuds of top PCO’s in Sydney with special treats taken from the newly launched Bait al Bilad Cookbook. The cookbook showcases Oman’s unique fusion of flavours borrowed from the past: Asia (India), Persia (Iran) and East Africa (Zanzibar), with key ingredients being rice and seafood.
As part of the Ocean Blue group, Bait al Bilad is a romantic village house in Muscat serving Omani banquet dinners for corporate or private clients. However, for a truly rock star experience, you can’t go past the SY Azzura – a 75 foot luxury catamaran available for charter perfectly suited for incentives or events.
The Sultanate of Oman has witnessed a startling increase of travellers out of Australia with an increase of 71.2% since 2011. This comes as no surprise as the year-round sun, variety of activities and affordable hotels lure in more leisure seeking holiday-makers. “It’s an alternative destination for those seeking to immerse themselves in the true Arabian culture,” Sultanate of Oman Tourism AU/NZ, Mona Tannous said at the intimate lunch.
