TravelManagers’ personal travel managers Bev Fitzsimons, representative for Oakleigh South and Theresa Kwong, representative for Hughesdale know you don’t have to travel overseas to enjoy a wonderfully diverse holiday; it’s all here in Australia’s North West. The personal travel managers each recently experienced a unique part of the stunningly beautiful Northern Western Australia on a familarisation trip hosted by Australia’s North West Tourism. The mega famil was unique in that groups of eight consultants enjoyed one of five individual itineraries that culminated at the Cable Beach Club Resort in Broome where all consultants undertook a ‘speed-dating’ format session with approximately 35 local operators.
“The final night workshop was a fantastic way to learn more about North West Australia from the local experts. I am aware of the many different products offered in this region and now I have wonderful local contacts to assist with itinerary planning and advice to better plan and implement my client’s holiday plans,” says Kwong.
Fitzsimons experienced the ‘Gibb River Road and Kununurra’ regions which included a 4WD adventure, overnight at Home Valley Station with its breathtaking towering gorges and stunning ancient landforms and ranges; the unique El Questro Wilderness Park being a million acres in size in the untamed Kimberley region as well as a scenic flight over the Bungle Bungles. With so many amazing experiences it was difficult for Fitzsimons to choose a highlight. “It was a tough choice between horse riding, the Bungle Bungle flight and Emma Gorge. With steep terrain making the walk to Emma Gorge difficult at times, it was well worth the effort being rewarded with stunning scenery and a well earned dip to cool off in the water hole.”

Kwong experienced the ‘Big Waters’ Kununurra itinerary enjoying a river cruise up the Ord River, a helicopter ride across the remote and rugged Kimberley region, a tour of the Kununurra region and overnight stays at The Kimberley Grande, Kununurra’s homestead-style resort and conference centre and the new Lake Argyle Resort nestled in the side of the Carr Boyd Ranges 100 metres above the waters of Lake Argyle.
“This tranquil setting is surrounded by some of the most breathtaking scenery in Australia. Here we are busy at work, I love my job!” says Kwong.
