I told George my Mum loved him on Rafter’s he said oh well maybe you should give me her number!! I just looked at him with no response and he just laughed at me! Hugh told me not to worry about him, he like mothers!! |

Whilst delivering a Conference at the Hilton in Sydney, I was very shocked for the elevator door to open and my teen idol Mel B from the Spice Girls walk out (this was pre X Factor days so I did not expect to bump into her in Oz). I was too shocked to approach her at first. I went back to the registration desk and waited for my moment to pounce – managing registration and spice girl stalking proved very challenging
I embarrassingly told her how I used to dance & sing to her songs in front of my family at Xmas & was even nicknamed a spice boy by my school teacher. I also cringe at the fact I had to ask her husband to take the picture – He was not best amused! |

In 2004 I travelled 15500 miles across the United States and Canada, visiting every Major League Baseball park (30 in all) to see a game in each. Along the way we had special stopovers such as Graceland, New Orleans, Washington DC, Field of Dreams, Iowa and of course Broadway in NYC. Hugh Jackman was appearing in the Boy from Oz at that time and I had bought tickets to his show before I left Australia and I had to meet him so I devised a plan to get backstage. With the gift of the gab and some lady luck on my side I ended up having a conversation with his assistant and he gained the impression that I had been part of the Beauty and the Beast cast in Melbourne and knew Hugh, now who was I to correct him…..15 mins later there I was rubbing shoulders back stage with Hugh and he greeted me with the words “Long time no see …you are looking well” …..needless to say….a priceless photo….. |

It was NYE 2011 and my partner (William Kaafi from Creative Holidays) and I were in New York City for the NYE celebrations during the time we were in New York William was saying that if he could meet any celebrity in the world it would be Lea Michele (Rachel Berry from Glee) he is completely in love with her. This comment was prompted by the fact we kept on seeing Billboards all over the city of her face as she was working for some animal cruelty foundation.
So it was the night of NYE 2011 and we decided to head to Central Park to view the free fireworks, we had watched the majority of the fireworks and then just before the fireworks had ended we were heading out of Central Park to beat the rush. This was when we bumped into Lea Michele and Harry Shum Jnr (Mike Chang from Glee) they were in Central Park also enjoying the fireworks with their families. We had a chat to them both lovely people and were interested to find out where we were from etc. We then asked them for a photo, Lea Michele declined as she was quite emotional beacuse it was NYE and she was with her family. However she volunteered to take a photo of us & Harry Shum Jnr which was awesome! I tried to even get a sneaky photo of her after we finished chatting (without much success). Without a doubt this was the highlight for William, it was the best thing that happened on our Month trip to the states and he still mentions it every time we watch Glee or sees Lea Michele! |

This is myself (long brown hair), my friend Jessie, and the massively successful electronic rock band The Prodigy!!! Jessie and I were in Moscow at the time, having a drink at the bar of the Ritz Carlton on Tverskaya when The Prodigy strolled on in. I approached them with “So..are you guys, like, famous or something?” .. trying to act all cool, like I didn’t know, even though I was beyond excited!! Jessie and I were lucky enough to spend time chatting with the massively popular band for about an hour. We were fortunate in that, in Moscow, it is easy to be discreet, and there were no other fans around at all, just us and them! |

While visiting a friend who worked at Warner Bros. in Burbank, CA, he invited me to ‘go to set’. That’s me in the purple top with the hard hat, and far left is Tom Cruise; the big guy is legendary writer/director John Milius who wrote among numerous other films,”Apocalypse Now, Dirty Harry, Clear & Present Danger’ and around 30 more. And far right with ‘Dad’ on his helmet and jacket, is none other than Steven Spielbeg. Tom Cruise was incredibly friendly and Mr. Spielberg was as nice they come. They were shooting ‘Minority Report’ and I hung out for around 2 hours. |

Not a huge celebrity but a local one. I met Chris Cheney from Aussie band The Living End. I had attended a music festival in Sydney and had been a massive fan of theirs for years! Without sounding like a stalker amongst my friends Chris Cheney is known as my music husband.
We had just seen the guys perform live so I was on a high from that, we then walked past a gated off area and he happened to be standing there. I nervously approached him and he said he had to quickly speak to someone and he would be back. I waited around 20 minutes and decided that he wouldnt be back so my friend and I ducked to the ladies room and when we were heading back to our campsite and had to walk passed the fenced off area again and there he was waiting for me. He asked where I went because he came back and I wasnt there!
I got a photo with him and maybe giggled like a school girl. After meeting him and getting a photo I may or may not have skipped like an idiot |

The attached picture is of crooner Darren Percival and me at the NTIA’s last month. I bumped into him in the left lobby after he had entertained the masses. After we had a chat and I explained I was a fan despite not having a TV or watching ‘The Voice’ he asked to have his picture taken with me…so technically this is more Darren Percival’s celebrity moment than mine!! Haha! |

Travel Daily Breaking News!
Rob Kirk sends Jack Black Broke!
In December 2011 at Skycity Casino in Auckland, Australian resident, New Zealand raised Scotsman Rob Kirk of HWT Chatswood showed his silky smooth Poker Skills to the well known Actor Jack Black and sends him quivering to his room the night before his performance for Tenacious D. (Foo Fighters Tour 2011)
Rob Kirk sent Jack Black to the rail with a well timed bluff before getting Jack Black to commit all of his chips holding AQ of hearts into his 2 black Aces. The flop was QK4 to give Jack Black a few outs before the turn and river bricked out (K2) to send Jack Black to his room.
Kirk admitted he did feel a little intimidated “He (Jack Black) was using his celebrity status and was talking a lot to make sure the fellow players folded to him, but I remembered what my poker hero (Brendan “Chickface” Edmonds) had secretly told me” ED – we tried to get Rob to reveal his secret but were unsuccessful.
Much to the fans delight, Tenacious D ultimately played the performance of their life. “I cant believe that I was completed owned at the poker table last night, I felt I had to make this performance special to say sorry to my fans who were on the rail in last nights tournament where I promised so much. Rob is an amazing poker player and I am going to seek lessons from his Poker Pro Coach Brendan. Rob deserves a trip to America after his performance and I am hoping he does win it so I can try and win back some creditability when he is there. I don’t like losing. In all fairness, I am happy to be second to Rob, congratulations to him” said Jack Black after being interviewed before boarding his flight to Queenstown.
Congratulations to Rob Kirk who eventually went on to win Event 3: $550 buy in event and take home a cool $25,650 and a nice ring at the prestigious Auckland Poker Champs. |

I was in Sydney with my girlfriend and I thought I’d give Kochie and Mel a visit at Sunrise Headquarters. I woke up in the morning, sprinted from my Darling Harbour hotel room, the salty-sea-winds rushing through my hair and the sounds of Monday morning commuters swiftly brushing past me and a horse-head mask held tight in my arms. Arriving at Sydney CBD, I pulled the rubber mask over my head and began taking orders from my girlfriend who was watching live in our hotel room – tactfully sprinting into various positions I made sure I was in every camera shot possible while she fed me information through an earpiece hooked up to my phone. I felt like James Bond – wearing a horse mask.
Eventually it came to 9AM, Kochie and Mel were ushered outside by security ready to do their final piece to camera and sign off. Skillfully, I took advantage of this opportunity and wedged my way in between both Kochie and Mel, as they were signing off. Live on breakfast television, Kochie turns to me and says ‘why the long face, mate?’
See the attached picture and even see the video I put together – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_o8T8Ryks4o
The only regret I have is nearly passing out due to lack of breathing holes in that mask – it sure does get hard when you’re running around Sydney CBD like a lunatic for an entire hour wearing a horse head mask, but hey, it was worth it to meet Kochie and the Sunrise gang! |

I had the pleasure to meet the ‘Underbelly Bad Boy’ himself Vince Colosimo, at a gala event in Queensland in 2009. Being from Tasmania, we are ‘sheltered’ here from the rich and famous, this was the first time I had ever met anyone famous, and I was soo excited as you can tell by the grin on my face! |
