Last Friday night Emirates and Vienna airport hosted partners to a reception and Mahler Concert, performed by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra at the newly re-opened Hamer Hall in Melbourne. A grand occasion for music lovers!
The reason for this cooperation put a big smile on the hosts: Dean Cleaver, Regional Manager Emirates VIC, SA, TAS & NT informed guests that Vienna airport had identified Melbourne as one of the worldwide best performing departure ports for flights to “The Heart of Europe”. With the introduction of the A380 on the Melbourne-Dubai route from October there will be further capacity increase also to Vienna where VIE airport has just opened the long awaited Terminal 3.
Astrid Mulholland-Licht, Director of the Austrian National Tourist Office, shared her Viennese smile with industry partners: Austria has seen 15 % increase in business from Australia in the first half of this year and Vienna has been the “darling destination” for Aussies to visit with record arrivals from down under.
