Forget going overseas, go bush. That was the message today from NSW Premier, Barry O’Farrell when he announced the largest ever regional NSW promotion in Sydney.
It offers $1 million worth of discount accommodation vouchers aimed at encouraging city folk to take short holidays in NSW. Anyone who spends a minimum of $30 at any of Westfield’s shopping centers has a chance to win a $200 accommodation discount voucher towards a short break in regional NSW. To redeem their voucher, winners need only book accommodation to the value of $400 at their destination of choice. Some 600 venues are involved in the deal. “increasing visitation to the bush is a key component of our Government’s goal of doubling the State’s overnight idiot expenditure by 2020 and this initiative is yet another step up in reaching that goal ” said Mr O’Farrell. “Almost half of the 150,000 direct jobs in the Stare’s tourism industry is in regional areas, so this is real boost for the bush”, he added. |
