The conference was held 14-17 May at The Palazzo and incorporated a James Bond theme. The conference was called ‘Licence to Win’ and was sponsored by Avis, Amadeus and Singapore Airlines.
The keynote speaker was Caspar Berry – a writer, businessman and former professional poker player from Las Vegas, who used his experience at the tables to become a presenter and poker expert on a number of TV shows, most notably Poker Night Live (2005-2007) and Sky Poker (2007-2009), where he was one of the technical analysts. Caspar spoke about risk, risk management, decision making an innovation in business.
In addition to some great presentations from our global senior leaders for multinational account management, technology, sales and marketing, a highlight for many was the team building event which involved constructing bikes for children from the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Corporation. FCm delegates were split into teams of 6, and asked to design a card, build a bike and then create a short performance.
The children were then each presented with a bike at the end of the session. The activity, which was sponsored by Avis, was an excellent team building initiative that not only provided a channel for the travel industry to support the local community but also gave everyone involved a sense of contribution and connection with local families.
