Fifteen of Australia’s top product and marketing managers recently returned from the Fa’a Samoa Roadshow in Samoa, held in April.
They were joined by their contemporaries from New Zealand and Europe. Participants received property updates, were introduced to new properties and accommodation options and met with property managers both on the islands of Upolu and Savai’i. The agents also experienced the various nature related activities that Samoa has to offer.
Local tourism operators were on show, from waterfront resorts to the traditional Samoan fales dotted along the coast as well as car rental companies and in-bound tourist operators.
The famil was followed by the Samoa Tourism Exchange themed ‘Set for Success’, which was a dynamic knowledge and resource sharing event designed to raise practical and innovative strategies to capitalize on the strength of growing visitor numbers.
Adele Leathan, from Samoa Tourism Authority Australia says that Samoa is in the cusp of incredible growth with Australians identifying Samoa as a must – visit, emerging destination.
“Australia’s holiday and leisure numbers are up 25.2%, an overall increase of 11.7% YOY. December holiday/leisure market reflected an increase of nearly 38%, so it’s exciting for us to see the growth opportunities in Samoa and receive feedback from the Australian tourism industry on how to further improve the number of visitors to our islands” says Adele.
