As part of its commitment to providing an authentic Hawaiian experience inflight, several members of the Hawaiian Airlines ohana recently attended the 2012 Live the Sacred Teachings of Aloha workshop in Melbourne.
Hawaiian Airlines attended the event to learn about the ancient teachings and spiritual knowledge of the Hawaiian people and to learn the hula! During the workshop Kumu Lawrence Aki, the 50th generation of his Hawaiian lineage (Na Mea Kāne Hula O Molokai), shared rare insights about the beliefs and practices of his ancestors before teaching participants how to speak Hawaiian. The Hawaiian Airlines team also got into the aloha spirit by giving participants the chance to win two return tickets to Honolulu, enabling the winner to experience Hawaiian’s hospitality first hand.
