The team from Grand Pacific Tours went to the Melbourne premiere of The Hobbit last night at the Rivoli cinemas in Hawthorn East, Victoria.
Our SA & WA Business Development Manager, Ruth Mains, also enjoyed the Adelaide premiere.
In Melbourne, we spotted a few celebrities including Kimberley Davies, Simone Callahan, Madeleine West, Jason Harvey, Melissa Bergland, Paul O’Brien, Shura Taft, Damon Gameau, Zoe Tuckwell-Smith, Leah de Niese, Corinne Grant, Mark Holden, Anna Holden, Kerry Armstrong, Steve Vizard, Patrick Brammall, Samantha Nield, Tom Wren and Susan Salmon.
The movie was absolutely fantastic and really showcased how beautiful New Zealand’s scenery is.
The beginning of the movie was filmed in on picturesque private farmland near Matamata, in New Zealand. This location has since been turned into Hobbiton, a film set attraction.
Hobbiton is included in some of Grand Pacific Tours 2013/14 itineraries.
To top off the night, we all went home with Hobbit socks and an eye mask from Air New Zealand with the words ‘Strictly no admittance – except on party business’.
