Gina Reinhart, Australia’s richest woman had a ring side seat at the Royal Orchid Sheraton on Bangkok’s Chao Phraya River last night to watch the spectacle of the annual “Loy Krathong” Festival.
Travel Daily, who was also in attendance, snapped this exclusive picture of Ms Reinhart being escorted to her seat where she enjoyed a sumptuous buffet while dozens of decorated boats floated past the hotel along the famous “River of Kings.” Every year the Kingdom of Thailand celebrates the festival by floating a ‘Krathong’ – a banana-leaf cup, on the river. This is intended to carry away the misfortunes of the past, as well as express apologizes to the River Goddess. While fireworks exploded above the hotel, Ms Reinhart seemed more interested in her iPad and spent most of the evening tapping on her screen, oblivious to the action around her. |
