Qantas to add more than 20 WestJet codeshare routes.
Qantas is set to add more than 20 new routes to and within Canada, via a new wide-ranging agreement with Canadian low cost carrier WestJet, Travel Daily can exclusively reveal.
The move will see connections from Qantas international flights to Honolulu and Los Angeles with WestJet services onto Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Edmonton.
WestJet has sought a fast tracked authorisation of the pact, which also covers onward flights to destinations such as Ottawa, Montreal, Kelowna, Winnipeg, Victoria, Regina, Halifax and Saskatoon.
Qantas has confirmed the move this morning, with QF Executive Manager International Sales, Steven Thompson, saying “this is great news for our customers who will enjoy the benefits of travelling on a Qantas flight number right through to their final destination in Canada with baggage checked through and more opportunities to earn frequent flyer points”.
