QF plans peak season non-stops to Canada.
Qantas has just announced six direct return flights between Sydney and Vancouver in January 2015 to cater for peak winter holiday demand.
The new Canada seasonal service is “great news for Australian travellers and ski enthusiasts,” according to Qantas International ceo Simon Hickey.
“By flying non-stop to Vancouver, our customers can enjoy more time on the mountain, or wherever in Canada their holiday plans may take them.
“We’re also making it more convenient for Canadian travellers to experience the best of summer here in Australia,” Hickey said.
The codeshare announcement follows last week’s revelation of QF’s new codeshare with WestJet, with a morning arrival by the Qantas flight into Vancouver enabling same-day onward travel to ski resorts across Canada.
The six seasonal flights will operate between 03 and 22 January 2015, departing Sydney each Saturday and Wednesday. Return flights will leave Vancouver in the late evenings on Sundays and Thursdays, with the route to be operated using a three-class Boeing 747 aircraft.
