AFTA expands NTIA, adding Best OTA, River Cruise categories and more.
The 2015 National Travel Industry Awards will see the introduction of seven new categories as well as the renaming of three existing categories “to reflect the changing, dynamic nature of the travel industry”.
AFTA ceo Jayson Westbury said the NTIA gala dinner, to be held at Dockside Pavilion Darling Harbour on Sat 18 Jul 2015, continues to grow in size and relevance.
“For AFTA, NTIA is one of the most important calendar events and as NTIA grows year-on-year we feel it increasingly important to ensure that the categories reflect the structure of the industry,” he said.
The changes mean the 2015 NTIA will incorporate 37 categories in total.
The additions are:
– Best Non Branded Travel Agency Group
– Best Online Travel Agency
– Best Travel Agency Manager – Retail Single Location
– Best Travel Agency Manager – Retail Multi Location
– Best Travel Agency Manager – Corporate Single Location
– Best Travel Agency Manager – Corporate Multi Location
– Best River Cruise Operator
The three renamed categories are:
– Best Specialty Wholesaler
– Best Cruise Ship – Domestic Deployment
– Best Cruise Operator – International Deployment
The expansion is “a remarkable indicator of the size and strength of the travel sector,” Westbury said.
