New Gold Coast Jetstar 787 route to operate non-stop to Wuhan.
Jetstar has just announced its first flights to China, with twice weekly scheduled services between the Gold Coast and Wuhan effective from 29 Sep this year.
The new service is being delivered in partnership with the Dalian Wanda Group, a major Chinese tourism and hospitality operator which is developing a $1 billion-plus hotel complex in Surfers Paradise.
Dalian Wanda will sell integrated flight and holiday packages to the Gold Coast for Chinese travellers, with Jetstar Australia/NZ ceo David Hall saying the new route would deliver major economic benefits to the Gold Coast.
“This new service opens up a direct link between Southeast Queensland and one of the largest travel markets in the world, delivering about 70,000 seats between China and the Gold Coast each year,” he said.
The new 787 Dreamliner flights will operate each Tuesday and Saturday with a total flight time of just over nine hours.
