Consolidated Travel CFO back on Helloworld board.
Helloworld has just announced the appointment of Peter Spathis as a non-executive director, with the move effective immediately.
Spathis returns to the company’s board after a 2.5 year hiatus, having formerly been a director of Jetset Travelworld Limited from 2002 until Nov 2012 as the appointed representative of Sintack Limited.
Sintack is a company controlled by the Alysandratos family, which also owns Consolidated Travel and has a 50% stake in the Express Travel Group.
Sintack recently increased its shareholding in Helloworld to almost 20%, and “has requested that Mr Spathis be reappointed to the Board,” according to an ASX update issued this morning.
The company also confirmed the retirement of Stephen Bennett from the board, saying he had decided to step down due to “increased executive commitments”.
Helloworld chairman Brett Johnson said he was delighted to welcome Spathis back to the board.
“I am sure our business will benefit from Peter’s wealth of travel industry knowledge and experience,” he said.
