Year-round Vancouver-Brisbane service to launch in Jun
Air Canada has overnight confirmed it will launch new non-stop thrice weekly services between Vancouver and Brisbane using triple-class Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, effective 17 Jun.
The Star Alliance carrier will be the only airline offering a direct link between Queensland & Canada and intends to boost frequencies to daily in due course, subject to regulatory approvals.
“Air Canada continues to strategically expand its international network with the addition of our second Australian destination – Brisbane, capital of Queensland and the third most populous city in Australia,” president and ceo Calin Rovinescu remarked.
Air Canada said it would work with the Queensland Government, tourism partners from both countries and Brisbane Airport to promote the new route.
Brisbane Airport Corporation ceo & md Julieanne Alroe said negotiations with Air Canada and other parties have been in progress for two years.
Flights on AC35 YVR/BNE and AC34 BNE/YVR will go on sale from 16 Jul.
