Bestjet now removed from AFTA membership and is no longer ATAS accredited.
The Queensland Supreme Court has today refused an application by Bestjet Pty Ltd for an injunction which would have restrained AFTA from acting on a decision not to renew the online travel agency’s ATAS accreditation.
AFTA originally announced just over two weeks ago that Bestjet’s ATAS accreditation would not be renewed (Travel Daily 21st March 2016) but the OTA subsequently applied for and was granted an interim injunction restraining AFTA from acting on the decision (TD breaking news 22 March).
The matter has now been heard and today Justice Applegarth refused Bestjet’s application. That means AFTA’s original decision takes immediate effect, with the Federation confirming that “Bestjet Pty Ltd has been removed from the AFTA membership list and it is no longer ATAS accredited”.
