AmaMagna to debut in 2019
APT has just announced plans for AmaMagna, a totally new concept in river cruising. Now under construction, the vessel is twice as wide as traditional river ships and will have capacity for 194 passengers along with more dining, entertainment and recreational options.
AmaMagna will also boast another river cruise industry first – an open water platform equipped with zodiacs, canoes and other equipment. The ship will operate on the Danube River and can cruise as far as the Black Sea.
“As the luxury river cruise market continues to grow, we want to carry on as the leader in industry innovation. While this new double-width concept has been on the table for some time, we believe, given the unique demand that exists, that now is the perfect moment to introduce this style of ship,” said Chris Hall, Managing Director of APT Travel Group.
“AmaMagna will provide guests with generous personal space, the freedom of multiple dining choices and exceptional stateroom comfort. Combining this with our award-winning cuisine, signature and exclusive shore excursions and remarkable onboard service, we feel this ship is a game-changer.”
In total AmaMagna will feature 97 staterooms, the majority of which will be over 300 square feet, some of the largest in river cruising. Additional amenities include a large heated sundeck swimming pool with whirlpool and sky bar, a spacious spa area with new treatments, a fitness room large enough for small group classes and generous common areas designed to accommodate a variety of onboard events.
Itineraries for the new ship will be released in the next few weeks.
