235-room property on Bourke Street set to open in 2020.
Marriott International has this morning announced the new Le Meridien Melbourne, a new 12-storey hotel which marks the return of the Le Meridien brand into the Australian market.
The property is being developed by Jinshan Investment Group, fronting the Bourke/Spring Street tram stop in a conversion from an existing low-rise building.
Sean Hunt, area vice president of Marriott International Australia, NZ & the Pacific, said “as a Parisian-born brand focused on unlocking a destination, Le Meridien is the perfect fit for the city and the hotel is set to become a landmark for cultural-focused travellers visiting Melbourne”.
Slated for a 2020 opening, Le Meridien Melbourne follows recent openings of the brand in Italy, South Korea, China and the USA within the last 12 months.
