Flight Centre restructuring to create new Product Excellence Hub.
Flight Centre has just advised staff that it will cease operating the Infinity Holidays wholesale brand, which will be combined with other support teams to create a one-stop Product Excellence Hub for its consultants.
Existing bookings will continue to be managed and refunds will continue to be processed, with the company saying that “by taking a centralised approach we will have much greater insight into any specific training and development needs, and can respond by upskilling our already experienced front-line consultants”.
Flight Centre Executive General Manager of Australian Supply and Product, Greg Parker, said the company saw a clear need to “right-size” its product support business in the current climate to “deliver a more effective rebound”.
“In the product space we must make decisions now that will allow us to focus on delivering a stronger future business model for our customers,” he said.
The changes mean that “unfortunately there will not be enough roles for all the people currently in these teams,” the company told staff.
The company noted that its Global Product Network procurement business, which looks after the contracting of its leisure suppliers across the globe, was not part of the restructure.
