Morrison outlines interstate border plan; Closure on VA acquisiton
Prime Minister Scott Morrison has revealed that interstate border restrictions should aim to be lifted by December.
The PM made the announcement following a national cabinet meeting today, revealing that all state and territories had agreed to the earmarked date, except for Western Australia which was the only state to abstain from the border proposal.
“Western Australia has set out some very specific circumstances in their state as to why they won’t be joining that aspiration at this time…but they will continue to work with us,” Morrison said.
“Not everyone has to get on the bus for the bus to leave the station, but it is important for the bus to leave the station and we all agree on that,” he added.
MEANWHILE the sale of Virgin Australia to Bain Capital has been formally approved at a creditors meeting held today.
