Expedia sells corporate travel division to Amex GBT.
Expedia Group’s corporate arm, Egencia, is set to become part of American Express Global Business Travel (GBT), with a binding offer in place which will also see Expedia become a shareholder in GBT.
“The deal would bring Egencia, a leading digital travel management company, into the GBT family. GBT would continue to invest in the Egencia brand, its people and technology, as part of the world’s leading business travel platform,” said GBT CEO Paul Abbott.
The transaction, which is subject to consultation with employee representatives and regulatory approvals, also includes a long-term strategic commercial agreement between Expedia and GBT.
