First plan to outbound travel revealed.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison has revealed a new four-part pathway strategy towards normalising Australia’s travel movements.
Although dates are yet to be revealed, the PM stated the timeline would be tied directly to vaccination rates and would be released shortly.
In phase three of the plan, Morrison confirmed restrictions would be lifted regarding outbound travel, and that the country would also actively pursue new travel bubble candidates.
Outlining the current phase one in more detail, the PM said the government has temporarily reduced return traveller caps by 50% to all major ports in a bid to take the pressure off quarantine facilities and curb the virulent delta strain.
However phase two of the road map will see restrictions eased with regard to border closures, the restoration of passenger caps to previous levels for unvaccinated return travellers and even larger caps allocated for vaccinated travellers.
More details in Monday’s edition of Travel Daily.
