New VA/UA codeshare and frequent flyer relationship replaces VA’s Delta agreement
Virgin Australia Group and United Airlines have this morning announced a new partnership, with the deal replacing Virgin’s longstanding cooperation agreement with Delta Air Lines which has been in place for over ten years.
The new United deal, which is subject to Government approval, is set to roll out in early 2022, and will offer a range of benefits to top tier frequent flyers of both airlines including priority check-in and boarding, additional baggage allowance, priority security clearance and lounge access.
The carriers said the pact would also triple Virgin Australia’s reach into the USA, giving customers access to United’s domestic and international network with connections via UA’s multiple Australian gateways.
