Quarantine-free New Zealand entry for vaccinated Australians in April, with visitors from other countries to be added from 01 May.
New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has just announced that fully vaccinated Australian travellers will be able to enter the country without quarantine from 12 April.
The reopening had previously been flagged for sometime in July, but Ardern said that after evaluating the country’s response to the Omicron wave of COVID-19 “we are ready to welcome the world back”.
Visitors from other countries which have visa waiver arrangements with New Zealand will be able to enter without quarantine or isolation requirements from 01 May.
The revised reopening will allow Australians to cross the Tasman for the upcoming school holiday period, with the move also set to provide a major boost for the NZ ski sector.
