Changes to Qantas Group Executive Committee will see longstanding senior leader depart.
Qantas has just announced that Gareth Evans has made the decision to step down as Jetstar CEO in December, after 23 years at Qantas including time as CFO and CEO of Qantas International.
The news was part of a wider announcement confirming significant domestic capacity cuts through the next nine months “to assist with the recovery of sustained high fuel prices”. QF capacity will reduce 15 percentage points through until September, while a 10 per cent reduction will apply to schedules from October until the end of March 2023.
Qantas has also today announced a “recovery boost” comprising $5,000 worth of QAN shares for up to 19,000 EBA-covered employees once they finalise new enterprise bargaining agreements.
Other QF news revealed today includes plans to start direct flights from Perth to Jakarta and Johannesburg in November this year.
