Sun Princess to debut in early 2024 with capacity for over 4,000 passengers.
Princess Cruises President John Padgett has this morning unveiled the details of the line’s “stunning new and bespoke ship platform” which is 20% larger than its existing fleet while maintaining the ability to be deployed globally via the Panama Canal.
The first ship in the 175,500-ton 2,157 stateroom class will be christened Sun Princess, returning the iconic name to the Princess fleet in tribute to the line’s heritage and tradition while also boasting a host of innovations.
Centred on a nine-storey integrated architectural sphere forming the ship’s iconic Piazza, the ship will also feature The Dome, a “cutting-edge entertainment space inspired by the terraces of Santorini”, while the brand-exclusive Princess Medallion will “extend Princess’ leadership position in delivering exceptional personalised experiences at unmatched scale,” Padgett told Travel Daily.
A new Signature Collection level of suite accommodations will be complemented by its own restaurant, lounge and sun deck, while Club Class mini-suites will be renamed Reserve Collection fleetwide.
Sun Princess will debut in early 2024 in the Mediterranean, with Australia and New Zealand continuing to be key markets for the Princess brand, Padgett confirmed.
