Long time cruise industry leader steps down amid global and regional reorganisation for Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Oceania Cruises.
Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) has just announced that industry veteran Steve Odell will retire at the end of the year, after seven years with the company and a cruise industry career spanning almost four decades.
The highly respected Odell established NCLH’s local company office in 2015 and the business has since seen significant growth in the Asia Pacific region for all three of its brands: Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania and Regent Seven Seas. In 2019 his role evolved to be responsible for both Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Oceania Cruises in the Asia Pacific market.
Lisa Pile will become VP of Sales and General Manager APAC for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, reporting to Caroline Smith who has been named MD International for the brand, with responsibility for APAC, EMEA, LATAM and Brazil.
The Oceania Cruises role of Jason Worth will have expanded responsibilities for the entire Asia Pacific region as VP Sales and GM APAC, reporting to Oceania Senior VP Nikki Upshaw.
Overnight NCLH also announced changes at the top of the Oceania and Regent Seven Seas brands, with Andrea DeMarco to replace Jason Montague as President of Regent and Frank A. Del Rio to take over as President of Oceania from Howard Sherman.
Odell said “it has been an honour to lead the unmatched teams at Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Oceania Cruises during this exciting period of growth in the Asia Pacific region. I am proud of the significant achievements we have accomplished together, and I am confident that this is the right team to lead the company into the future and continue delivering best-in-class experiences for our loyal guests and valued travel partners”.
