Two Classic ships and two Expedition vessels to be in operation by 2029.
A&K Travel Group CEO Cristina Levis has just confirmed plans for the construction of four Crystal Cruises newbuilds.
Although contracts with a shipbuilder have not yet been signed, “what I can announce today is that we are working closely with our lenders and with the export credit agencies, with very talented naval architects and with two ship building companies to build four ships…so our aim is to have four newbuilds by the end of 2029,” Levis said.
Two of the vessels will be 220-passenger expedition ships, while the other two “classic” ships will have capacity for about 650 passengers.
“We aim at starting construction of one expedition ship and one classic ship by Q2 next year,” Levis confirmed.
