After playing a key role in shaping the Aussie carrier’s brand over the last two years, Povey has handed in her resignation to pursue a new opportunity outside of the aviation industry.
The Melbourne-based marketing expert led the team to create and build the Bonza brand, overseeing the launch of 38 routes and three bases, as well as bringing to life the new Bonza Holidays division.
The app-based carrier said Povey was integral in “setting Bonza up for long-term success”, saying “her strategic vision has set the scene for the next generation Chief Commercial Officer to join our team of legends as we move on from our initial start-up phase”.
“Whilst this was not an easy decision, I leave behind a very capable team and an airline that has firmly solidified its place in the market and can now focus on continuing to learn and deliver the basics very well, earning the right to grow,” Povey commented.
She will finish up at Bonza on 07 Dec. A search is now under way for the low-cost airline’s “next generation” commercial leader.
