Flights available five days per week, taking off from 28 Jun.
Rex has confirmed its long-awaited entry into the Perth market and debut of cross-country flights, with a new route from Melbourne to Perth taking off from next month.
Fares are on sale now for the route, with one-way tickets between the two cities priced from $289 in economy class or $999 in business class, with all fares including carry-on and checked baggage.
Flight ZL873 departs Melbourne on Sun, Mon, Wed-Fri at 8:15pm, touching down in Perth at 10:40pm local time.
It’s wheels-up for the return service on the same days at 11:55pm, with the red-eye ZL874 landing in Melbourne at 5:30am local time.
Rex General Manager Network Strategy, Warrick Lodge, said the new Perth flights – which is the carrier’s 11th domestic 737 service overall – will add close to 90,000 seats annually to “one of the nation’s busiest routes”.
“Rex consistently delivers outstanding domestic on-time performance results, and when travellers are booking a route of this distance and duration, reliability is paramount,” Lodge commented.
The carrier said a further announcement on another new domestic route is expected in the next few days.
