Virgin Australia’s frequent flyer program to acknowledge its most loyal guests with ‘Forever Gold’ and ‘Platinum Plus’ tiers.
Velocity Frequent Flyer has just announced significant changes to its membership tiers aimed at rewarding its most loyal flyers and making seat redemptions easier.
Acting in response to a member survey, Velocity will introduce a new ‘Forever Gold’ tier for loyal members to lock in their status for life and earn permanent access to perks such as lounge access, priority check-in, security screening and more.
Qualification for Forever Gold will come for members who have earned 12,000 status credits dating back to 01 Feb 2013, with a minimum of 9,000 from Virgin Australia marketed flights taken by the member specifically, excluding extras earned from family pooling, partner airlines, credit cards or shopping programs such as FlyBuys.
Ultra-frequent flyers will also be able to aim higher than the current tier ladder permits, with Velocity to launch a new Platinum Plus tier, which will allow holders to enjoy four FOC upgrades to business class when flying on a Flex or Choice fare.
Platinum Plus status will be granted to flyers who earn 2,000 status credits over a 12-month period, with at least 1,500 coming from VA operated flights. The same mark is required to be hit to maintain Platinum Plus for subsequent years.
