Brisbane Airport’s terminals will remain open for passengers and essential airport workers who need shelter while it is still safe to do so.
An update from Brisbane Airport has confirmed passenger flights will be suspended from 4pm today because of safety concerns around Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
An update from Qantas Group also stated Qantas and Jetstar flights will be suspended from mid-afternoon today, with international operations to stop running until at least midday Sat local time, while domestic services will be suspended until at least Sun morning local time.
Qantas and Jetstar operations from the Gold Coast will remain suspended until at least Sun morning for domestic and at least midday Sat for international Jetstar services.
At this time, flights to and from the Sunshine Coast and Hervey Bay are continuing to operate, but will be reviewed regularly and changes may be required.
The latest weather forecast suggests the cyclone will likely make landfall between Noosa and Coolangatta.
