The British accommodation executive will take control of TTC’s Touring division, with interim CEO Melissa DaSilva as Deputy CEO.
The Travel Corporation (TTC) has announced Simon Jones will become the new permanent CEO of its TTC Tour Brands division, which incorporates Trafalgar, Luxury Gold, Insight Vacations, Trafalgar, Costsaver, Contiki and more.
Jones joins TTC from his role as CEO of UK holiday parks brand Away Resorts, where he oversaw a financial restructure and a turnaround for the business following the pandemic. Prior to that, he led accommodation brand Premier Inn where he helped grow revenues by nearly £1 billion.
Following Jones’ appointment, TTC Tour Brands interim CEO Melissa DaSilva will step into a new role as Deputy CEO, where she will continue to oversee all source markets as a key leader for the division globally.
In Australia, current TTC Tour Brands Managing Director Oceania, Toni Ambler, is unaffected by the change and will remain in her current role.
“The Travel Corporation has an incredible track record of growth, delivering world-class travel experiences across a diverse range of brands and markets, backed by a clear commitment to be a responsible leader within travel,” Jones said of his new role.
Jones will be based in the UK while DaSilva will remain in California, with an official start date for Jones yet to be confirmed.
